Have you noticed that there isn’t really much info on the Internet about how to improve your feet health👣👣?
Search up articles or YouTube vids on ”Fitness” or “Health” and you’ll find tons discussing things like how to improve your fitness regime, or info on specific conditions that can affect your brain, or any other major health system.
In today’s post, you’ll find out the 5 main reasons why your feet should be part of your overall health journey.
Top 5 Reasons Why Having Good Feet Health Helps You
1 It helps support your body weight
Your feet are very special piece of equipment God created for your body. The amount of forces it absorbs when you walk, jump or run is amazing (in other words, it’s a lot, especially when you jump or run).
Neglecting your feet can lead to pain or worse- injury. And, especially if you are an athlete, injury is the last thing you need to deal with.
2 It helps prevent certain conditions
Some conditions that you can avoid by having good foot heath include:
- Blisters
- Ingrown toenails (Onychocryptosis)
- Athlete’s Foot
Just like any other part of the body, your feet need some TLC too.
3 It helps maintain your posture
Did you know that abnormally aligned feet, for some people, can cause knee pain or even back pain? Usually, this misalignment is caused by issues such as Obesity, certain medical conditions e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, or the number one reason I’ve experienced when treating patients-wearing the wrong shoes.
4 It protects your feet from infection
Bacteria and fungi are everywhere– mix this with over exposure to moisture/sweat on your feet (plus bad foot hygiene) can lead to conditions like:
- Athlete’s Foot
- Maceration
- Fungal toenails (Onychomycosis)
5 It helps avoid foot pain
Top 3 reasons people get foot pain are: medical conditions, wearing the wrong kind of shoes and injury. The best solution to avoid foot pain (or seriously limit it, if you have a medical condition that affects your feet) is to maintain good foot care.
Conclusion
your feet are just as important as your brain health, your heart health and any other body system that needs to be taken good care of.
